On optimal call admission control in resource-sharing system [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications, 2001
Summary: We consider call admission control of multiple classes without waiting room. We use event-based dynamic programming for our model. We show that sometimes the customer classes can be ordered: if it is optimal to accept a class, then to accept a more profitable class is optimal too.

Performance of a Two-Level Call Admission Control Scheme for DS-CDMA Wireless Networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2007
We propose a two-level call admission control (CAC) scheme for direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) wireless networks supporting multimedia traffic and evaluate its performance. The first-level admission control assigns higher priority

Call blocking probabilities for Poisson traffic under the Multiple Fractional Channel Reservation policy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we study the performance of the Multiple Fractional Channel Reservation (MFCR) policy, which is a bandwidth reservation policy that allows the reservation of real (not integer) number of channels in order to favor calls of high channel ...

A Policy-Based Admission Control Scheme for Voice over IP Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
: Problem statement: In Voice Over IP (VOIP) network, when more calls are admitted to the network, more voice packet traffic is created. Since bandwidth is always limited, this may result network congestion and/or may affect voice quality.

Spinal Cord Infarction Versus Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis: Clinical, Radiological, and Functional Insights From a Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Spinal cord infarction (SCI) is a rare but devastating myelopathy, characterized by a high disability rate and an unfavorable prognosis. It has often been underdiagnosed and misdiagnosed as idiopathic transverse myelitis (ITM). This study aimed to describe the clinical features, radiological biomarkers, treatments, and functional ...

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of the Recurrence of Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is a disease with a potential for recurrence, and patients receive immunotherapy to prevent it. However, there is no consensus on the duration of immunotherapy. This study aimed to determine the recurrence rate and identify the risk factors for AE to provide guidance on the duration of immunotherapy ...
