To Call or Not to Call: the Impact of Phone Call Reminders on Influenza Vaccination Rates
Section on Tobacco Control Program, 2021OBJECTIVE: The effects of reminder systems on seasonal influenza vaccination rates are largely inconclusive. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of personalized phone call reminders on seasonal influenza vaccine rates in pediatric patients.

Preappointment Surveys and Reminder Calls to Improve Show Rate
The American Journal of Managed Care, 2022To assess the impact of preappointment surveys and reminder phone calls on show rate and time spent in new patient appointments at a multidisciplinary pediatric chronic pain clinic. We examined show rates and appointment length during the 1-year period before and 1-year period after a preappointment survey and phone reminders were implemented.

In this paper, several approaches are presented for the estimation of false call rate including confidence bounds during an NDE reliability study. Bootstrapping methods are applied to nonparametric models (for hit-miss data) and several noise distribution models.

On improving call drop rates in cdma2000
WCNC. 1999 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (Cat. No.99TH8466), 2003One of the performance issues that have come to light upon study of field data from deployed CDMA networks is the occurrence of call drops due to slow handoff, when crucial reverse link messages do not make it successfully to the mobile. The aim of 3G systems should certainly be to achieve call drop rates of nearly 0% and enhancements to the radio link

Rating the Severity of Close-Call Events
Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2004Accidents rarely happen; close calls (“near misses”) are much more prevalent. So learning from close-calls is statistically more feasible. This paper describes a new technique for rating, or having a computer help to rate, the relative severity of close-call events.

Locating the Clues of Declining Success Rate of Service Calls
2020 IEEE 31st International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE), 2020For many on-line systems with massive users, to provide services continuously and steadily is vital for business, which requires the anomalies of services should be located and resolved in a timely manner. As a common IT infrastructure, various APM (Application Performance Management) systems/frameworks have been adopted to monitor each call request to

Changes in call rate of Woodhouse's toad in response to synthetic calls
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984Woodhouse's toad (Bufo woodhousei), in contrast to many other anurans, has one all-purpose call used by the male to attract females as well as to announce his presence to competing males. The call has a pulse rate of about 160 per second and a dominant frequency of about 1500 Hz.

Metabolic Rates Associated with Distress and Begging Calls in Birds
Physiological and Biochemical Zoology, 1999Rates of oxygen consumption during begging behaviour in nestlings of seven species and distress call behaviour in adults of eight species of Australian birds were measured. A transparent mask coupled to an open-flow respirometry system was used, and calling was elicited by the presentation of food or by the perceived threat of a predator.
