Abstract High nature value (HNV) pastoral systems, that is those maintained by herding, transhumance and extensive grazing practices, are recognised as cornerstones of European biodiversity, cultural heritage and ecosystem service provision. Yet these systems are currently under significant pressure from a range of economic, social and environmental ...

Integrated GWAS and transcriptomics in a Canadian waterhemp biotype reveal mesotrione resistance is polygenic and metabolically driven. Significant SNPs and 187 herbicide‐responsive genes point to enhanced redox homeostasis, glutathione‐linked detoxification, lipid/secondary metabolism, and oxidative stress responses. Resistance arises from coordinated,

Conditions for Accretion Favoring an Unmelted Callisto and a Differentiated Ganymede
Analysis of Callisto’s moments of inertia, derived from Galileo’s gravity data, suggests that its structure is not fully differentiated. This possibly undifferentiated state contrasts sharply with the globally molten state inferred in its counterpart ...

Abstract We analyze the propagation of a coronal mass ejection (CME) observed on 23 March 2024, at 01:25 UT by SOHO/LASCO using a multi‐instrument and multi‐method approach. The study combines Interplanetary Scintillation (IPS), type II radio bursts, white‐light, in‐situ observations, and 3D tomographic reconstruction of the inner heliospheric density.

ASSESSMENT OF THE LEVEL OF SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK OF THE 400/220/110/20 kV MINTIA POWER SUBSTATION [PDF]
The most effective way to ensure safety and protect the health of workers at work is to eliminate sources of danger. It is an action whose effects are maximal if carried out in the design and construction of work systems, but which is also beneficial ...

How Does Ice Shell Geometry Shape Ocean Dynamics on Icy Moons?
Abstract A poleward‐thinning ice shell can drive circulation in the subsurface oceans of icy moons by imposing a meridional temperature gradient–colder at the equator than the pole–through the freezing point suppression due to pressure. This temperature gradient sets a buoyancy gradient, whose sign depends on the thermal expansion coefficient ...

In restoration practice, initial state assessment is often insufficient to identify specific limiting factors, with practitioners resorting to off‐the‐shelf restoration methods which may not be appropriate. In the case of lotic invertebrate communities, the tools to comprehensively assess communities do exist; we need to improve understanding and ...

Mayfly diversity in the brazilian tropical headwaters of Serra do Cipó
The objectives of this study were to evaluate spatial and seasonal distribution, assemblage structure and substrate associations of mayfly nymphs in five lotic ecosystems in the headwaters of the Doce River and São Francisco River watersheds, Brazil ...
