Evaluation of different carbon sources for high frequency callus culture with reduced phenolic secretion in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) cv. SVPR-2

open access: yesBiotechnology Reports, 2015
An efficient protocol was developed to control excessive phenolic compound secretion during callus culture of cotton. As cotton is naturally rich in phenolic compounds factors influencing the phenolic compound secretion, callus induction and ...

Transposase‐Assisted Donor Tethering Boosts Large‐Fragment HDR in Plants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A transposase‐assisted donor tethering strategy is developed to enhance homology‐directed repair in plants. By recruiting donor DNA to double‐strand breaks and synergizing with repair pathway reprogramming and transcription‐coupled donor design, this system markedly improves large‐fragment targeted insertion efficiency, providing a robust platform for ...

Effects of NaCl on the response of Mesembryanthemum crystallinum callus to Botrytis cinerea infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Callus of the halophyte Mesembryanthemum crystallinum was used to study the effect of NaCl on the response to Botrytis cinerea infection. The fungus easily colonized the callus surface and the intercellular spaces.

In Vitro Organogenesis of a Slipper Orchid, Paphiopedilum ‘Alma Gavaert’

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2018
The aim of the present study was to improve the regeneration efficiency of callus lines in a slipper orchid, Paphiopedilum ‘Alma Gavaert’. Three kinds of vegetative tissues, root, stem and leaf segments, were used as explants to induce callogenesis; out ...

NLSS3 Impairs SHM1 Autophagic Degradation to Regulate Leaf Morphology and Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rice, NLSS3 binds and shields SHM1 from autophagic degradation to maintain serine homeostasis. The A132P mutation in nlss3 disrupts this, triggering SHM1 loss, metabolic dysfunction, K+ imbalance, and impaired ROS scavenging, which collectively drive narrow leaves and salt sensitivity.

Maltese literature in the language of the other: a case study in minority literatures’ pursuit of ‘majority’ = A literatura maltesa na linguagem do outro: um estudo de caso das literaturas minoritárias em busca da ‘maioridade’

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Language and Culture, 2009
This paper explores some of the difficulties faced by so called minority literatures in attracting both popular and critical notice, particularly in view of the fact that recourse to the vernacular can foreclose dissemination of works in significant ...

Multiple Transcriptomic Networks Regulate the Callus Development Process in Panax ginseng

open access: yesAgronomy
Callus induction is one of the most important techniques in plant-based industries. Important features in the use of callus induction are the maintenance of pluripotency and the proliferation of cells.
