The use of tissue culture techniques in the study of growth, metabolism, and differentiation has been widely developed for the dicotyledons, but the monocots, especially the grasses, have received little attention. One reason for this was that until recently the establishment of in vitro cultures of monocots was quite difficult.

Callus induction and plant regeneration from gladiolus
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1995A method for the initiation of callus capable of plant regeneration from in vivo grown cormels of gladiolus (Gladiolus x grandiflorus Hort.) is described. Sliced cormels of the large-flowering hybrid, ‘Peter Pears’ were cultured in vitro on a modified Murashige and Skoog medium, supplemented with various auxins.

Induction of morphogenesis in barley callus culture
Russian Agricultural Sciences, 2014In the course of the creation of initial breeding material, the response of callus tissue initiated by seven various genotypes to bacterization by methylotrophic bacteria and to the addition of perfluorocarbones having a gas transporting function in/on culture medium was studied t- ley plants.

Kiwifruit micropropagation through callus shoot-bud induction
In Vitro Cellular & Developmental Biology - Plant, 1992A profitable system for the establishment of morphogenic callus cultures and indirect shoot induction and development was accomplished from nodal shoot segments obtained from adult and micropropagated plants of kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa [Chev.] Liang and Ferguson, var.deliciosa) cv. “Hayward”.

[Optimization of noni callus induction and establishment of callus suspension system].
Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2019The aim of the study was to obtain the secondary metabolites in the stem segment of noni and to establish genetic transformation system. The stem segments (no axillary buds) of noni were used as explants to induce the callus, and then to establish the cell suspension system. The factors affecting callus induction and cell suspension were studied.

Copper requirement for callus induction in rice
Plant Science Letters, 1974Abstract Rice var. Norin-8 and 11 dwarf rice mutants induced earlier by various mutagenic treatments, were used to ascertain the nature of callus induction in modified Murashige and Skoog's medium containing the minor elements copper, cobalt and molybdenum and in modified White's medium lacking them. All the mutants and parent plants grown in White's

Callus Induction Followed by Regeneration and Hairy Root Induction in Common Buckwheat
This section describes a set of methods for callus induction followed by the successful regeneration of whole plants and obtaining a culture of transgenic hairy roots from buckwheat plants (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench.). Callus induction and regeneration are key steps for many biotechnological, genetic, and breeding approaches, such as genetic ...Denis O, Omelchenko +3 more
