Crystalline polyimides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
Aromatic crystalline polyimides are disclosed that are synthesized from polyamide-acid and when heated to 200 C to 300 C become cyclized to afford an opaque polymer.

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) Analyses Of Superelastic And Nonsuperelastic Nickel-Titanium Orthodontic Wires [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The purpose of this study was to determine the transformation temperatures for the austenitic, martensitic, and rhombohedral (R) structure phases in representative as-received commercial nitinol (NiTi) orthodontic wire alloys, to reconcile discrepancies ...

Facile Synthesis of CuxS Electrocatalysts for CO2 Conversion into Formate and Study of Relations Between Cu and S with the Selectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Copper sulfide based electrocatalysts for CO2 conversion are selective for production of formate as major product. Transformations under electrochemical conditions result in significant sulfur loss, and this study examines the nature of how persistent, residual sulfur (observed as surface SO42– species and S dissolved in the electrolyte) can sustain ...

Crystallization kinetics of equimolar liquid crystalline mixture and its components [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences 2024, 14(24), 11701
The new equimolar mixture comprises liquid crystalline compounds MHPOBC and partially fluorinated 3F2HPhF6. The phase sequence of the mixture is determined by differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and broadband dielectric spectroscopy.

Evolution of structural (α) relaxation-time anomalies in GexSe1-x Chalcogenide glasses [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research Express 2, 055201 (2015), 2015
We examine enthalpy relaxation across the chalcogenide glass series GexSe1-x, prepared over close-by compositions using conventional melt-quenching technique. We estimate the timescale {\tau}(Tg) characterizing enthalpic relaxation near the kinetic glass transition temperature, using the non-reversing heat-flow data obtained from MDSC (modulated ...

In Situ Formation of a Melt‐Solid Interface Toward Stable Oxygen Reduction in Protonic Ceramic Fuel Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
Protonic ceramic fuel cells offer a promising route to generate power efficiently but face critical challenges in achieving industrially viable activity and stability at their cathodes in CO2‐containing air. This report proposes a new cathode material design strategy to enable the cathode to be both catalytically active and CO2 tolerant through the ...

Entropy production in temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (2008) 1, 2008
The non-equilibrium process due to irreversible heat exchanges occurring during a temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry experiment is investigated in detail. This enables us to define an experimental frequency dependent complex heat capacity from this calorimetric method. The physical meaning of this dynamic heat capacity is discussed.

Medium Temperature Phase Change Materials Thermal Characterization by the T-History Method and Differential Scanning Calorimetry [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Heat Transfer, 30(5), 463 to 474 (2017)
This paper presents a thermal characterization of salt mixtures applying the T-History Method and the Differential Scanning Calorimetry DSC techniques. By using water as a standard substance, the original T-History method was developed to analyze materials with melting points under 100 Celsius.

Practical remarks concerning phase diagrams determination on the basis of differential scanning calorimetry measurements

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2013
Phase diagrams of binary systems at constant pressure are representations of oneand two-phase regions with their boundaries being functions of temperature and concentration.
