AC-Calorimetry at High Pressure and Low Temperature
Recent developments of the AC-calorimetric technique adapted for the needs of high pressure experiments are discussed. A semi-quantitative measurement of the specific heat with a Bridgman-type of pressure cell as well as a diamond anvil cell is possible ...

Non-equilibrium heat capacity of polytetrafluoroethylene at room temperature [PDF]
Polytetrafluoroethylene can be considered as a model for calorimetric studies of complex systems with thermodynamics transitions at ambient temperature. This polymer exhibits two phase transitions of different nature at 292 K and 303 K.

Study on Intumescent Flame Retarded Polystyrene Composites with Improved Flame Retardancy [PDF]
The flame retardancy and thermal stability of ammonium polyphosphate/tripentaerythritol (APP/TPE) intumescent flame retarded polystyrene composites (PS/IFR) combined with organically-modified layered inorganic materials (montmorillonite clay and ...

This work reveals the phase composition and quantitative morphology analysis of precipitation‐hardened Fe32Cu12Ni11Ti16Al29 complex‐concentrated alloy. The precipitates are shown to have a high coherency. Morphology transition between sphere, cuboidal, and elongated morphology is observed. Finally, the overaging behavior is captured using microhardness.

Toughness of Confined Auxetic Foams
Auxetic (negative Poisson's ratio) materials offer benefits such as impact mitigation, thermal insulation, vibration damping, and reduced shear strain, although their fracture mechanics are largely unexplored. This study investigates damage initiation and propagation in confined re‐entrant auxetic foams from polyurethane via experimental ...

Combustion calorimetry with fluorine: constant pressure flame calorimetry
Instruments and methods have been developed and are described for the measurement of heats of reaction between fluorine and other gaseous materials. Verification of the amount of reaction of hydrogenous materials is possible. The estimated accuracy of measurements is about 0.3 percent. Lack of certainty of the magnitude of corrections to be applied for

Nanoscale Quantum Calorimetry with Electronic Temperature Fluctuations
Motivated by the recent development of fast and ultra-sensitive thermometry in nanoscale systems, we investigate quantum calorimetric detection of individual heat pulses in the sub-meV energy range.
