Calreticulin mutations in myeloproliferative neoplasms
2021Calreticulin (CALR) is a chaperone present in the endoplasmic reticulum, which is involved in the quality control of N-glycosylated proteins and storage of calcium ions. In 2013, the C-terminal mutation in CALR was identified in half of the patients with essential thrombocythemia and primary myelofibrosis who did not have a JAK2 or MPL mutation.

Ecto‐calreticulin in immunogenic chemotherapy
Immunological Reviews, 2007Summary:The conventional treatment of cancer relies upon radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Such treatments supposedly mediate their effects via the direct elimination of tumor cells. Nonetheless, there are circumstances in which conventional anti‐cancer therapy can induce a modality of cellular demise that elicits innate and cognate immune responses ...

Abstract The calreticulin cDNA sequence (GenBank accession numbers M84739, human; X53363, rat; L13462, bovine) predicts a soluble protein of c. 400 amino acids, with an N-terminal signal sequence, C-terminal tetrapeptide KDEL ER retrieval signal (Michalak etal., 1992).
