The effects of maternal calving date and calving interval on growth performance of beef calves
This study was undertaken to investigate the growth performance of calves born to dams with different calving dates and calving intervals. Early calving dams produced calves with the lowest birth weights, the highest actual weaning weights and the highest pre-breeding heifer weights.

Genetic relationships between calving date, calving interval, age at first calving and type traits in beef cattle [PDF]
In this paper the genetic relationships between major reproductive traits in beef cattle (Calving Date, Calving Interval and Age at First Calving) and type traits have been estimated to evaluate the usefulness of type classification in predicting reproductive performance in beef cattle.

Reproductive rate is an important component of economic success in livestock production. Parturition interval (IEP) is a direct measure of the productivity of the animal. Long IEP reduce the number of calves produced per year.

Effect of Parity on Productive Performance and Calving Interval in Water Buffaloes
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the parity on productive performance (lactation length, total milk yield and milk yield by day of calving interval) and calving interval in water buffaloes.

Trends in Calving Ages and Calving Intervals for Dairy Cattle Breeds in the United States [PDF]
Trends since 1980 for calving age and calving interval, 2 factors that influence herd life, were examined by parity for 5 breeds of US dairy cattle. Calving data were from cows with records that passed edits for USDA genetic evaluations and were in herds that remained on Dairy Herd Improvement test.

Records of 71 buffaloes, raised under a semi-intensive production system in a university herd, collected from 1993 to 1999, were used to study the effect of some nongenetic factors on milk performance and causes of calf mortality.
