This paper deals with the development of an interactive hierarchial CAD/CAM system for integrated design and manufacture of cams. A unique feature of the system is a CAD-CAM Interface module for manufacturing analysis, which integrates CAD with CAM so that manufacturing characteristics can be considered in the design phase and vice versa.
