Discriminant amino-acid components of Bactrian ( Camelus bactrianus ) and Dromedary ( Camelus dromedarius ) meat [PDF]
Dromedary (Camelus dromedarius) and Bactrian (Camelus bactrianus) camels are close species and their hybrids fertile, but until now no comparative data on the nutrient composition of their meat has been available. Six muscle samples were collected from nine Bactrians and 10 dromedaries from Kazakhstan and the Sultanate of Oman, respectively.

PYTHIOSIS IN A DROMEDARY CAMEL (CAMELUS DROMEDARIUS)
Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, 2004A 4.5-yr-old male dromedary camel (Camelus dromedarius) was evaluated for a mass on the right side of the face. A complete blood count and blood chemistry revealed anemia and hypoproteinemia. Radiographs did not reveal bony involvement. The mass was resected and Pythium insidiosum was cultured.

Steps of spermiogenesis in the ostrich (Struthio camelus)
Cell and Tissue Research, 2023Few studies describe the sequence of morphological events that characterize spermiogenesis in birds. In this paper, the clearly observable steps of spermiogenesis are described and illustrated for the first time in a commercially important ratite, the ostrich, based on light microscopy of toluidine blue-stained plastic sections.

Phycomycosis of the Abomasum in Camelus Dromedarius
Journal of Veterinary Medicine Series A, 1993SummaryTwo cases of phycomycosis of the abomasum in dromedary camels arc described. In one of the cases there is evidence of spread to the liver. The pathology and pathogensis of the disease are discussed. We believe this is the first report of phycomycosis in Camelidae.

The Electrocardiogram of the Camel (Camelus dromedarius)
Zentralblatt für Veterinärmedizin Reihe A, 2010Summary Standard, augmented limb leads, and lead V10 (representing the Z axis), taken sequentially, were recorded from 72 camels. Records were analyzed for rate, rhythm, interval duration and component amplitudes. The wave forms of the QRS complexes were analysed in all leads.
