Hump biopsy on large camelids (Camelus dromedarius and Camelus bactrianus)
2013Composed essentially of adipose tissue containing a high proportion of fat, the hump is a particularity of the camel. The collection of hump fat by biopsy is an easy way for monitoring the composition of fat storage or for the follow-up of xenobiotic lipophilic molecules. The method of biopsy is described.

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1971SUMMARY A total of 46 lacrimal glands were studied. The camel's lacrimal gland is provided with only one excretory duct, a device necessary to ensure a copious and continuous flow of lacrimal secretions.

Immunoglobulins of camel (Camelus dromedarius) colostrum
Journal of Comparative Pathology, 1996Immunoglobulins G, M and A were identified in dromedary camel colostra by acid precipitation, gel filtration and fast-protein liquid chromatography (ion exchange). Heavy and light chains were identified by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and Western blotting.
