Ontogenetic Changes in Endocranial Anatomy in Gorgosaurus libratus (Theropoda: Tyrannosauridae) Provide Insight Into the Evolution of the Tyrannosauroid Endocranium

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 533, Issue 5, May 2025.
Changes through growth (ontogenetic) in the braincase of the eutyrannosaurian tyrannosauroid Gorgosaurus libratus are discussed. Most notably, brain cavity endocasts of immature Gorgosaurus are found to more clearly show details of the brain morphology than more mature individuals, a finding that has implications for improving dinosaur paleoneurology ...

The Effect of Chitosan Edible Coating Containing Nanoemulsion of Eryngium campestre Essential Oil on the Quality of Ostrich Meat During Storage in Refrigerator

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2025.
Ostrich meat samples coated with chitosan containing nanoemulsion of Eryngium campestre essential oil had lower free fatty acid, peroxide value, and total volatile bases and also lower microbial count. Chitosan coatings incorporated with 2.5% and 5% nanoemulsion of Eryngium campestre essential oil decreased the drip loss and increased the texture ...

The influence of temperature, humidity and wind on the daily visits to water by the Australian zebra finch

open access: yesJournal of Avian Biology, Volume 2025, Issue 3, May 2025.
The Australian zebra finch is an arid‐adapted passerine with high hygric demands, that is projected to be at risk from increasing temperature and aridity throughout its distribution by the end of the century. We examine here how individual zebra finches modify their visits to water in response to the climatic conditions of ambient temperature, relative
