Herein, a synergistic integration of unsupervised learning and reinforcement learning (RL) is demonstrated for optimization of 3D‐printing process. The variational autoencoder, a type of unsupervised learning, is utilized to detect occurrences of defects. In addition, RL with a physics‐based engineering model can maximize productivity and printability.
