Robust autocalibration for a surveillance camera network [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Workshop on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), 2013
We propose a novel approach for multi-camera autocalibration by observing multiview surveillance video of pedestrians walking through the scene. Unlike existing methods, we do NOT require tracking or explicit correspondences of the same person across time/views.

From consumer to enterprise grade: How the choice of four UAS impacts point cloud quality

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 46, Issue 10, Page 2019-2043, August 2021., 2021
In this study, we aim to quantify the magnitude of systematic and random error in digital elevation models derived from four commonly used UAS (XR6/Sony α6000, Inspire 2/X4s, Phantom 4 Pro+, Mavic Pro) following different flight patterns. Differences in mean errors (−0.4 to −1.8 cm) for the XR6, Inspire 2 and Phantom 4 Pro are significant but not ...

Modeling NO3–N leaching during establishment of turfgrasses irrigated with tailored reclaimed water

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, Volume 20, Issue 3, May/June 2021., 2021
Abstract Turfgrass systems have been identified as potential sources of nitrate leaching and subsequent groundwater contamination. The HYDRUS (2D/3D) model was used to quantify nitrate leaching from bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] and buffalograss [Buchloe dactyloides (Nutt.) Engelm] established by either seed or sod and irrigated with ...

A New Norm‐Observed Calibration Method Based on Improved Differential Evolution Algorithm for SINS

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
It is vital for a strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) to be calibrated before normal use. In this paper, a new kind of norm‐observed calibration method is proposed. Considering that the norm of the output of accelerometers and gyroscopes can be exactly the norm of local acceleration of gravity and Earth rotation angular velocity, respectively ...

UCalib: Cameras Autocalibration on Coastal Video Monitoring Systems

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
Following the path set out by the “Argus” project, video monitoring stations have become a very popular low cost tool to continuously monitor beaches around the world. For these stations to be able to offer quantitative results, the cameras must be calibrated.

Facilitating PTZ Camera Auto-Calibration to Be Noise Resilient With Two Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper presents a simple but effective technique to calibrate a PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) camera by using only two images for five intrinsic parameters: focal length, aspect ratio, the principle point coordinates and the distortion coefficient.

In Operando Monitoring by Analysis of Backscattered Electrons during Electron Beam Melting

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2020., 2020
A detection system for backscattered electrons (BSE) is used for recording the in operando signal during melting inside an electron beam melting (EBM) system. A comparison between the acquired BSE intensity map and the as‐built surface shows a remarkable correlation, which might be suitable for process monitoring and quality‐control purposes in ...

Estimating Intrinsic Camera Parameters from the Fundamental Matrix Using an Evolutionary Approach

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
Calibration is the process of computing the intrinsic (internal) camera parameters from a series of images. Normally calibration is done by placing predefined targets in the scene or by having special camera motions, such as rotations.

Development and application of microfluidic sweat detection technology in mental health monitoring

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2025.
In this review, the authors emphasize the potential of microfluidic sweat detection technology in the field of mental health monitoring. The work explores the intricate relationship between psychological disorders, such as depression and anxiety, and their physiological impact, emphasizing how these conditions can influence systemic health. Furthermore,
