Raster linearity of video cameras calibrated with precision tester [PDF]

open access: yes, 1964
The time between transitions in the video output of a camera is measured when registered at reticle marks on the vidicon faceplate.

The QUEST Data Processing Software Pipeline [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A program that we call the QUEST Data Processing Software Pipeline has been written to process the large volumes of data produced by the QUEST camera on the Samuel Oschin Schmidt Telescope at the Palomar Observatory. The program carries out both aperture

Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

Calibration Techniques for Accurate Measurements by Underwater Camera Systems

open access: yesSensors, 2015
Calibration of a camera system is essential to ensure that image measurements result in accurate estimates of locations and dimensions within the object space.

A Novel and Simplified Extrinsic Calibration of 2D Laser Rangefinder and Depth Camera

open access: yesMachines, 2022
It is too difficult to directly obtain the correspondence features between the two-dimensional (2D) laser-range-finder (LRF) scan point and camera depth point cloud, which leads to a cumbersome calibration process and low calibration accuracy. To address

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Stereo vision calibration procedure for 3D surface measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In reverse engineering, rapid prototyping or quality control with complex 3D object surfaces, there is often the need to scan a complete 3D model using laser digitizers. Those systems usually use one camera and one laser,- using triangulation techniques;

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Range Camera Self-Calibration Based on Integrated Bundle Adjustment via Joint Setup with a 2D Digital Camera

open access: yesSensors, 2011
Time-of-flight cameras, based on Photonic Mixer Device (PMD) technology, are capable of measuring distances to objects at high frame rates, however, the measured ranges and the intensity data contain systematic errors that need to be corrected.
