Resistance of horse chestnut tree (variety ‘Mertelík’) to Cameraria ohridella Deschka & Dimić, 1986 (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae)

open access: yesCentral European Forestry Journal
Resistance of horse chestnut Aesculus hippocastanum ‘Mertelík’ to Cameraria ohridella was proven in the trial under semi-field conditions. Seedlings of vulnerable and resistant trees were grown together in rearing cages and were exposed to the strong ...

Efficiency of GCSC-BtA, as a new type of biocide, on different agricultural arthropod pests and its side-effect on some predators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A new type of biocide GCSC-BtA, named from "Germany-China Scientific Cooperation-Bacillus thuringiensis-Abamectin", was successfully developed by conjugating delta-endotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis (B.t.) with Abamectin from Streptomyces avermitilis ...

Description of Intra-Annual Changes in Cambial Activity and Differentiation of Secondary Conductive Tissues of Aesculus hippocastanum Trees Affected by the Leaf Miner Cameraria ohridella [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Aesculus hippocastanum trees are commonly infested by the leaf miner Cameraria ohridella, whose larval activity causes the destruction of the leaf parenchyma and induces defoliation.

Comparative Study of Antioxidant Status in Androgenic Embryos of Aesculus hippocastanum and Aesculus flava

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
In vivo (leaves and seed embryos) and in vitro (androgenic embryos) antioxidant scavenging activity of Aesculus hippocastanum and Aesculus flava medical plants was examined. Here we report antioxidant enzyme activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, guaiacol peroxidase and glutathione peroxidase, reduced glutathione quantity, flavonoids, soluble ...

Microsatellites for the highly invasive Cameraria ohridella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) and their amplification in related species

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2008
A set of six polymorphic microsatellite markers was developed for the highly invasive horse chestnut leaf-mining moth, Cameraria ohridella. For 96 positive clones, six polymorphic microsatellites with conserved flanking regions were identified.

Landscape, demographic, and dispersal parameters influence the spread and establishment of an aquatic biological invasion

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2024.
Abstract Human‐mediated species introductions are contributing to the biotic homogenization of global flora and fauna. Despite extensive research, we lack simple methods of predicting how and where an introduced species will spread and establish, particularly in species with complex life histories in aquatic ecosystems.
