Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

A study of atmospheric CO2 transfer within surface fjord water in southern Hood Canal

open access: yes, 2018
Atmospheric CO2 is expected to continually increase and raise the global temperature by ~2 degree C by 2100. The global ocean consumes 30-40% of all CO2 emitted into the atmosphere every year which limits more dramatic temperature change in the ...

A 3D In Vitro Model of the Human Hepatobiliary Junction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A 3D human organoid platform reconstructs the hepatobiliary junction between primary adult hepatocytes and intrahepatic cholangiocytes. These adult hepatobiliary organoids (aHBOs) support directional bile transport from canaliculi to ductule‐like structures, enable quantitative imaging of junction dynamics, and reveal cell‐type‐specific vulnerabilities

Dataset on the assessment of water quality of surface water in Kalingarayan Canal for heavy metal pollution, Tamil Nadu

open access: yesData in Brief, 2019
This data article aimed to investigate the quality of surface water in Kalingarayan Canal for heavy metal pollution, Tamil Nadu. Eight heavy metals like Fe, Cu, Mn, Cr, Zn, Cd, Pb, and Ni were analyzed in the water, for a period of three years, spanning ...

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

Tumor‐Derived LAMB3 Drives Immunosuppressive LRRC15+ Fibroblast Formation During Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A single‐cell atlas of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma development reveals progressive ductal‐fibroblast‐immune crosstalk. Tumor‐derived LAMB3 drives the formation of immunosuppressive LRRC15+ fibroblasts through the ITGB1/FAK/MAPK/FOSL2 signaling. Glycolytic reprogramming upregulates LAMB3 and correlates with LRRC15+ fibroblast enrichment.

The effects of age and sex on the body cooling rates.

open access: yes, 1975
PhDWhen the head was cooled for 30 minutes, sublingual temperature fell by as much as 4.45°C below oesophageal which remained steady. Insulation of the head prevented this local cooling.
