Blending Cylinders and Cones using Canal Surfaces
There is reviewed the construction of a rational blending surface between cylinders and cones in some interlocation cases. This surface is constructed as a patch of rolling ball envelope, i.e.

Lightlike Hypersurfaces and Canal Hypersurfaces of Lorentzian Surfaces
The lightlike hypersurfaces in semi-Euclidean space are of special interest in Relativity Theory. In particular, the singularities of these lightlike hypersurfaces provide good models for the study of different horizon types.

SOME CHARACTERIZATIONS OF CANAL SURFACES
This work considers a particular type of swept surface named canal surfaces in Euclidean 3-space. For such a kind of surfaces, some interesting and important relations about the Gaussian curvature, the mean curvature and the second Gaussian curvature are found. Based on these relations, some canal surfaces are characterized.

Recognizing implicitly given rational canal surfaces
It is still a challenging task of today to recognize the type of a given algebraic surface which is described only by its implicit representation. In~this paper we will investigate in more detail the case of canal surfaces that are often used in geometric modelling, Computer-Aided Design and technical practice (e.g.

An exploratory study of pelvis anatomy to revise the bony canal used for LC2 screw insertion
Background Percutaneous screw placement, especially the insertion of LC2 screws, is technically demanding. Although the traditional LC2 bony canal spans the anterior inferior iliac spine (AIIS) to the posterior superior iliac spines (PSIS), a high ...

Evaluation of Dentin Thickness around Second Mesiobuccal Canal in Maxillary First Molar Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) [PDF]
Background and aim: Maxillary first molars exhibit a variety of anatomies in the mesiobuccal root, with a concave distal root that limits the preparation of the canal to prevent strip perforation.

Surfaces of Revolution and Canal Surfaces with Generalized Cheng–Yau 1-Type Gauss Maps
In the present work, the notion of generalized Cheng–Yau 1-type Gauss map is proposed, which is similar to the idea of generalized 1-type Gauss maps. Based on this concept, the surfaces of revolution and the canal surfaces in the Euclidean three-space ...
