Pan-Cancer Epigenetic Biomarker Selection from Blood Samples Using SAS [PDF]

open access: yesMWSUG 2018 conference proceedings, 2018
A key focus in current cancer research is the discovery of cancer biomarkers that allow earlier detection with high accuracy and lower costs for both patients and hospitals. Blood samples have long been used as a health status indicator, but DNA methylation signatures in blood have not been fully appreciated in cancer research.

CANCER OF THE LARYNX. [PDF]

open access: yesThe Lancet, 1921
The study of the cancer problem attracts all of us. In 1924, more than 50,000 people died from this disease in England and Wales, and the numbers increase yearly by about 1,700. If we could "pluck out the heart of this mystery" (Shakespeare), we would remove one of the three greatest physical scourges of man's frail humanity, leaving him still to ...

Genomic landscape and preclinical models of angiosarcoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Angiosarcomas are a rare and aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis for patients. The genomic landscape of angiosarcoma can be highly complex and heterogenous; however, recent studies have identified some common features especially within anatomic and molecular subgroups.

A Common Gene Expression Signature Analysis Method for Multiple Types of Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes2019 19th Industrial Conference on Data Mining, 2019
Mining gene expression profiles has proven valuable for identifying signatures serving as surrogates of cancer phenotypes. However, the similarities of such signatures across different cancer types have not been strong enough to conclude that they represent a universal biological mechanism shared among multiple cancer types.

Targeting rapid TKI‐induced AXL upregulation overcomes adaptive ERK reactivation and exerts antileukemic effects in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.
