Multifunctional Hydroxyapatite Coated with Gallium Liquid Metal‐Based Silver Nanoparticles for Infection Prevention and Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multifunctional hydroxyapatite (HAp) coating integrated with silver‐gallium liquid metal nanoparticles (HAp‐Ag‐GaNPs) exhibits dual antibacterial and osteogenic properties. It effectively inhibits Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria, including resistant strains, while enhancing bone regeneration.

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.

Comparison between ultrasound guided erector spinae plane block and paravertebral block on acute and chronic post mastectomy pain after modified radical mastectomy: randomized controlled trial

open access: yesBMC Anesthesiology
Background Inadequate acute postoperative pain management is linked to the effect on the stress response and development of chronic pain. A unique regional anaesthetic method that is becoming more important for postoperative pain management is erector ...

Opioids for chronic non-cancer pain in children and adolescents.

open access: yesCochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, 2017
BACKGROUND Pain is a common feature of childhood and adolescence around the world, and for many young people, that pain is chronic. The World Health Organization guidelines for pharmacological treatments for children's persisting pain acknowledge that ...

Matrix Tropism Influences Endometriotic Cell Attachment Patterns

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of substrate stiffness and multicellular coculture on endometriotic cell attachment to extracellular matrix‐laden microarrayed islands is reported. This model investigates early endometriotic cell attachment, aiming to capture “lesion initiation events”.

Role of bilevel erector spinae with high thoracic block vs conventional unilevel block in analgesia and reduction of pain in axilla in breast cancer surgeries: a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesPAIN Reports
. Introduction:. Management of pain associated with breast cancer surgeries is crucial in reducing incidence of postmastectomy pain syndrome. The pain distribution involves the anterior chest wall, axillary area and ipsilateral upper limb.

Transducer Materials Mediated Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses advanced transducer materials for improving deep brain stimulation (DBS) in neurological disorders. These materials respond to light, ultrasound, or magnetic fields, enabling precise, less invasive neuromodulation. Their stimulus‐responsive properties enhance neural control and adaptive therapy, paving the way for next‐generation ...

Can patient-reported measurements of pain be used to improve cancer pain management? A systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesBMJ Supportive & Palliative Care, 2016
Purpose Cancer pain is a distressing and complex experience. It is feasible that the systematic collection and feedback of patient-reported outcome measurements (PROMs) relating to pain could enhance cancer pain management.
