Lipid‐Facilitated Opening of the ADAM10 Sheddase Revealed by Enhanced Sampling Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
Phosphatidylserine acts as a lipid trigger to enhance activation of the sheddase ADAM10. By integrating fluorescence spectroscopy assays with enhanced sampling molecular dynamics simulations, this study shows that phosphatidylserine promotes ADAM10 catalytic activity along with expansion of its extracellular domains, enhancing accessibility to scaffold

Structural Modeling and Dynamics of the Full‐Length Homer1 Multimer

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, Volume 94, Issue 4, Page 947-960, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Homer proteins are modular scaffold molecules that constitute an integral part of the protein network within the postsynaptic density. Full‐length Homer1 forms a large homotetramer via a long coiled coil region, and can interact with proline‐rich target sequences with its globular EVH1 domain.

The Candy model: properties and inference [PDF]

open access: yesStatistica Neerlandica, 2003
In this paper we study the Candy model, a marked point process introduced byStoicaet al. (2000). We prove Ruelle and local stability, investigate its Markov properties, and discuss how the model may be sampled. Finally, we consider estimation of the model parameters and present a simulation study.

Back to the Time When the Grass Was Greener (and Buster Bunny Was Fluffier): A Study of Retro‐game‐evoked Nostalgia and Its Role in Gamers’ Behaviour

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, Volume 37, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Although the renewed interest in retro‐games has drawn attention to the importance of nostalgia in enhancing their market appeal, the antecedents of nostalgia arousal and its implications for gamers’ behaviour remain underexplored. To address this gap, we follow a discovery‐oriented approach that synthesizes literature and field‐based insights

The Impact of Design and Technology Capability on Patent Quality: Exploring the Role of Interdisciplinary Inventors and Their Technological Knowledge

open access: yesR&D Management, Volume 56, Issue 1, Page 88-101, January 2026.
ABSTRACT As innovation increasingly requires the integration of technological functionality with aesthetic design and user experience, firms benefit from inventors who can operate across both domains. This study investigates dual‐domain inventors—those who contribute to both utility and design patents—as a distinct category of innovation talent.

Multi‐omic characterization of consensus molecular subtype 1 (CMS1) colorectal cancer with dampened immune response improves precision medicine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 19, Issue 12, Page 3486-3498, December 2025.
This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Candy Flavorings in Tobacco

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2014
An analysis finds that chemicals used to flavor candy and popular drinks are also being used in tobacco products, often at much higher levels. Tobacco products with cherry, grape, and apple flavors contain the same flavorings used in Jolly Rancher candies, Life Savers, and Kool-Aid.
