Candida albicansspondylodiscitis

British Journal of Neurosurgery, 2004
Candida spondylodiscitis is a rare complication of a haematogenous dissemination of a candida infection, that usually affects immunocompromised patients. We present a case of a Candida albicans spondylodiscitis in a patient in whom a bacterial origin was suspected because of the antecedent of a Staphylococcus aureus bacteriaemia.

IL12 in Candida albicans infections

Research in Immunology, 1995
Cell-mediated and humoral immune responses are functions of distinct subsets of CD4+ cells termed Thl and Th2 cells, respectively (Mosmann and Coffman, 1989). In mucosal colonization and systemic infection of mice with the opportunistic fungal pathogen Candida albicans, a commensal for most healthy humans, Thl cells mediate phagocytedependent ...

Experimental Infection With Candida albicans

Archives of Dermatology, 1973
Candida albicans, applied to human skin under occlusion for 24 hours, induced a pustular dermatitis, the severity of which was proportional to the size of the inoculum. The 105cells produced infections in 95% of the patients. Blacks were more resistant than whites, thoughCandidagrew well. Mycelial forms were rare and were not a prerequisite for a take.

Dissociation in Candida Albicans

Journal of Infectious Diseases, 1940
The study of dissociation and variation is necessary to improve our systems of classification of the pathogenic fungi. If we diagnose a species on the basis of one morphological aspect, and if it happens that one species has several morphological forms, we establish many species, according to the form presented, where there is in truth only one species.
