Incomplete particles of canine adenovirus type 1: Occurrence and structure
Virology, 1989Replication of canine adenovirus (CAV) type 1 in dog kidney (DK) cells has been found to generate particles containing double-stranded DNA molecules of size 6-9 kbp with protein moieties at their 5' termini. The particles formed a discrete band in CsCl gradients at a density intermediate to that of intact virions and empty capsids.

Occurrence of Canine parvovirus-2 and Canine adenovirus-1 Infections in Dogs: A Hospital Based Study
Indian Journal of Animal Research, 2020Canine parvovirus-2 (CPV-2) and canine adenovirus-1 (CAV-1) are the major viral agents causing enteric diseases in dogs worldwide despite several control measures. The objective of the present study was to investigate the hospital based occurrence of CPV-2 and CAV-1 in dogs in teaching veterinary clinical complex of northern India from August, 2017 to ...

Characterization of the genome of a vaccine strain of canine adenovirus type 1
Virus Genes, 1988Restriction endonuclease cleavage maps have been constructed for the genome of a canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1) vaccine strain (CLL; Connaught Laboratories, Ltd., Willowdale, Ontario). Restriction enzyme analyses were also carried out on CAV-1 (CLL) genomes isolated from viral stocks over 8 serial passages in a dog kidney cell line (DK 6722).

Veterinary Record Case Reports, 2023
Abstract Canine adenovirus (CAdV), a non‐enveloped, linear dsDNA virus, is a member of the genus Mastadenovirus of the family Adenoviridae. Two different serotypes of CAdVs, canine adenovirus type 1 (CAdV‐1), which causes infectious canine hepatitis (ICH), and canine ...

CANINE ADENOVIRUS TYPE 1 IN A FENNEC FOX (VULPES ZERDA)
Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, 2014A 10-mo-old female fennec fox (Vulpes zerda) with drooling suddenly died and was examined postmortem. Histologic examination of different tissue samples was performed. Vacuolar degeneration and diffuse fatty change were observed in the liver. Several diagnostic methods were used to screen for canine parvovirus, canine distemper virus, canine influenza ...

Investigation of the presence of canine adenovirus (CAdV) in owned dogs in Northern Italy
The use of a modified live canine adenovirus (CAdV) vaccine has greatly reduced the incidence of infectious canine hepatitis (ICH) in dogs. Nevertheless, cases of CAdV type 1 and 2 (CAdV-1 and CAdV-2) infection have been recently reported posing ...

Nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence of the canine adenovirus type 1 proteinase
Virus Genes, 1992The DNA sequence of an open reading frame (ORF) corresponding to the canine adenovirus type 1 (Can1) proteinase gene was determined. A total of 1171 base pairs were sequenced from the downstream end of the HindIII-A Can1 genomic fragment, including adjacent regions corresponding to the carboxy-terminal portions of the hexon and the DNA-binding proteins.

Characterization of canine adenovirus type 1 isolated from American black bears
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1988SUMMARY Viruses recovered from tissues taken at necropsy from American black bears were examined by use of immunofluorescence with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, virus neutralization with monoclonal antibodies, and restriction endonuclease analyses of the viral genomes.

This article describes a case of glomerulonephritis and immunocomplex (IgM, IgG and C3c) deposition in the mesangium and basement membranes of a 2‐year‐old dog with canine viral hepatitis and dirofilariasis. The deposits observed in the mesangium were in the vicinity of cells with viral replication.

Cloning, physical mapping and cross-hybridization of the canine adenovirus types 1 and 2 genomes
Gene, 1987Cloned HindIII fragments of the type 1 and type 2 canine adenovirus (canAd) genomes were mapped with respect to the BamHI, EcoRI, HincII, PaeR7 and PstI restriction endonuclease cleavage sites. Considering the large differences found between the canAd-1 and canAd-2 DNA molecules, in terms of number and location of restriction sites, cross-hybridization
