Fixation of tibial pilon fractures with percutaneous cannulated screws
Injury, 2004Closed reduction and internal fixation with percutaneous cannulated screws was performed on seven patients with closed pilon fractures. The mean follow-up was 30.6 months. They were assessed using a subjective scoring system. The average score was 90.8/100. This method of fixation avoids extensive soft tissue dissection and gives excellent results.

Safety of Computer-assisted Surgery for Cannulated Hip Screws
Computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery has developed considerably during the past few years. Several manufacturers produce hardware and software for use in trauma surgery. Validation of these systems before clinical application is mandatory to be sure they work accurately and safely. The accuracy of surgical performance is highly correlated with the cut-

Technique for Removal of Cannulated Screws
Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, 2005Cannulated screws can become incarcerated or stripped during the process of initial open-reduction internal fixation or at the time of hardware removal. In addition, many different sizes and brands of cannulated screws exist, and the appropriate size or type of screwdriver may not be available.

Cannulated screws for odontoid screw fixation and atlantoaxial transarticular screw fixation
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1995✓ Cannulated screw systems use thin Kirschner wires (K-wires) that have been drilled into the bone to direct screw trajectories accurately into small bone fragments. Use of the K-wires avoids overdrilling the pilot holes and allows fixation of adjacent bone fragments during screw insertion. Hollow tools and hollow screws are inserted into the bone over

Extraction Strength of Cannulated Cancellous Bone Screws
Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, 1993The purpose of this study was to determine whether the alterations in the relative dimensions of thread and core diameter that accompany cannulation of cancellous bone screws affect their holding strength. The screws were inserted in bovine femoral cancellous bone and mounted in the load train of a materials testing system.

Cannulated Screw Fixation of Jones Fractures
The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 2004Background Traditional nonsurgical treatment of Jones fractures has high rates of delayed union, nonunion, and refracture. Internal fixation has become the treatment of choice in athletes and active patients. Purpose The purpose of ...

Lesser digital fusion with a cannulated screw
The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, 2005A dorsal linear longitudinal approach is used to access both the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ) and distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ). A transverse tenotomy/capsulotomy to enter the PIPJ and DIPJ is next employed. A planar resection of the opposing PIPJ joint surfaces is performed. The cannulated screw guide wire is driven from the head of the
