Canonical varieties with no canonical axiomatisation [PDF]
We give a simple example of a varietyV\mathbf {V}of modal algebras that is canonical but cannot be axiomatised by canonical equations or first-order sentences. We then show that the varietyRRA\mathbf {RRA}of representable relation algebras, although canonical, has no canonical axiomatisation. Indeed, we show that every axiomatisation of these varieties

Canonical and non-canonical functions of NLRP3
Since its discovery, NLRP3 is almost never separated from its major role in the protein complex it forms with ASC, NEK7 and Caspase-1, the inflammasome. This key component of the innate immune response mediates the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-18 involved in immune response to microbial infection and cellular damage.

Titration in Canonical and Grand-Canonical Ensembles
We discuss problems associated with the notion of pH in heterogeneous systems. For homogeneous systems, standardization protocols lead to a well defined quantity, which although different from Sørensen's original idea of pH, is well reproducible and has become accepted as the measure of the ``hydrogen potential".

Canonical and Non-canonical Reelin Signaling [PDF]
Reelin is a large secreted glycoprotein that is essential for correct neuronal positioning during neurodevelopment and is important for synaptic plasticity in the mature brain. Moreover, Reelin is expressed in many extraneuronal tissues; yet the roles of peripheral Reelin are largely unknown.

On canonical and quasi-canonical liftings
The notions of canonical and quasi-canonical liftings of the \(p\)-divisible group associated to an ordinary elliptic curve defined over a perfect field k of positive characteristic were introduced by \textit{J. Lubin, J.- P. Serre} and \textit{J. Tate} in a famous Woods Hole report of 1964.
