Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Capping the CAP?

open access: yes, 2022
The income farmers receive from production fluctuates from year to year. The fragility of this income is why protectionist policies are implemented in developed countries, making agriculture on of the most distorted economic sectors. Protectionist policies secure a stable income for farmers but decrease the ability of other countries to compete on the ...

Effect of an oxide cap layer and fluorine implantation on the metal-induced lateral crystallization of amorphous silicon

open access: yes, 2012
In this work, we investigate the effect of oxide cap layer on the metal-induced lateral crystallization (MILC) of amorphous silicon. The MILC is characterized at temperatures in the range 550 to 428°C using Nomarski optical microscopy and Raman ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Tip cap for a rotor blade [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
A replaceable tip cap for attachment to the end of a rotor blade is described. The tip cap includes a plurality of walls defining a compartment which, if desired, can be divided into a plurality of subcompartments.

On the group of a rational maximal bifix code

open access: yes, 2018
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the group of a rational maximal bifix code $Z$ to be isomorphic with the $F$-group of $Z\cap F$, when $F$ is recurrent and $Z\cap F$ is rational. The case where $F$ is uniformly recurrent, which is known to

Effects of Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) on ß-Defensins, Inflammatory Cytokines, and Apoptosis-Related Molecules in Keratinocytes In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) has been gaining increasing interest as a new approach for the treatment of skin diseases or wounds. Although this approach has demonstrated promising antibacterial activity, its exact mechanism of action remains unclear ...
