Sequence and phylogenetic analysis of novel porcine parvovirus 7 isolates from pigs in Guangxi, China.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Parvoviruses are a diverse group of viruses that infect a wide range of animals and humans. In recent years, advances in molecular techniques have resulted in the identification of several novel parvoviruses in swine. In this study, porcine parvovirus 7 (

Engineered Microvascular Model of the Blood–Brain–Tumor Barrier Reveals Endothelial Remodeling in Diffuse Midline Glioma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a patient‐derived, functional microfluidic model of the diffuse midline glioma (DMG) blood–brain–tumor barrier (BBTB) comprised of endothelial cells, astrocytes, pericytes, and tumor cells. The system forms perfusable microvasculature, reveals the BBTB retains vascular integrity, identifies DMG‐specific transcriptomic changes distinct from

CARMIL is a potent capping protein antagonist: identification of a conserved CARMIL domain that inhibits the activity of capping protein and uncaps capped actin filaments.

open access: yesThe Journal of biological chemistry, 2006
Acanthamoeba CARMIL was previously shown to co-purify with capping protein (CP) and to bind pure CP. Here we show that this interaction inhibits the barbed end-capping activity of CP. Even more strikingly, this interaction drives the uncapping of actin filaments previously capped with CP.

Alterations in mRNA and protein profiles in eIF4E-transfected human lung carcinoma cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Previous work has shown that treatment of the lung cell carcinoma cell line DLKP with the differentiation modulating agent bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) causes posttranscriptionally regulated changes in the expression of growth and differentiation related ...
