CHAPTER 1.1. Disulfide Bonds in Protein Folding and Stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Disulfide bonds are unique among post-translational modifications, as they add covalent crosslinks to the polypeptide chain. Accordingly, they can exert pronounced effects on protein folding and stability. This is of particular importance for secreted or

ISG56/IFIT1 is primarily responsible for interferon-induced changes to patterns of parainfluenza virus type 5 transcription and protein synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This work was supported by the Wellcome Trust.Interferon (IFN) induces an antiviral state in cells that results in alterations of the patterns and levels of parainfluenza virus type 5 (PIV5) transcripts and proteins.

RNA-Protein Interactome at the Hepatitis E Virus Internal Ribosome Entry Site

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2023
Multiple processes exist in a cell to ensure continuous production of essential proteins either through cap-dependent or cap-independent translation processes. Viruses depend on the host translation machinery for viral protein synthesis.

eIF4E‐homologous protein (4EHP): a multifarious cap‐binding protein [PDF]

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, 2021
The cap‐binding protein 4EHP/eIF4E2 has been a recent object of interest in the field of post‐transcriptional gene regulation and translational control. From ribosome‐associated quality control, to RNA decay and microRNA‐mediated gene silencing, this member of the eIF4E protein family regulates gene expression through numerous pathways.

Replacement of Dietary Fishmeal with Clostridium autoethanogenum Protein on Lipidomics and Lipid Metabolism in Muscle of Pearl Gentian Grouper

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition, 2023
Clostridium autoethanogenum protein (CAP) is an economical and alternative protein source. Here, three experimental diets were formulated with CAP replacing 0% (CAP-0), 30% (CAP-30), and 60% (CAP-60) of fishmeal to investigate the alterations of ...

CAP binding proteins associated with the nucleus

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1983
Cap binding proteins of HeLa cells were identified by photo-affinity labelling using the cap analogue gamma-[32P]-[4-(benzoyl-phenyl)methylamido]-7-methylguanosine-5'- triphosphate. Photoreaction with whole cell homogenates resulted in specific labelling of five major polypeptides.
