Self‐Assembly of Organic–Inorganic Copolymers Toward Bio‐Inspired Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Organic–inorganic copolymerization of calcium silicate hydrate and thioctic acid produces a self‐organized nanocomposite inspired by the disordered collagen–mineral architecture of trabecular bone. The resulting material combines a compressive strength above 300 MPa with intrinsic physical reprocessibility, retaining over 80% of its strength and energy

CAP Reform 1999: A Crisis in the Making [PDF]

open access: yesJCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, 2000
In March 1999 the European Council, meeting in Berlin, agreed a reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) which superseded a deal the ministers of agriculture agreed – or thought they had agreed – two weeks earlier. This article seeks an explanation of the nature of the second reform, before indicating briefly why further reform will be needed. In

Differentiated Impacts of EU Rural Development Measures: A Finite Mixture Evaluation of Italian Olive Farms

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the relationship between participation in the EU Rural Development Program and the economic performance of Italian olive farms using a finite‐mixture model with inverse‐probability‐weighted regression adjustment. Based on 2010–2022 FADN panel data, it estimates heterogeneous treatment effects while correcting for selection ...
