Capacitance measuring circuit for water waves
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1979A simple, reliable, integrated circuit is described which is used to measure standing water waves of amplitudes ranging from less than 1 mm. The circuit has a high dynamic range and is linear for changes in water depth of several centimeters. The sensitivity of this capacitance measuring device is 38 mV/mm of wave amplitude, enabling small amplitude ...

Capacitive Measurement of ECG for Ubiquitous Healthcare
Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 2014The technology for measuring ECG using capacitive electrodes and its applications are reviewed. Capacitive electrodes are built with a high-input-impedance preamplifier and a shield on their rear side. Guarding and driving ground are used to reduce noise.

Frequency dependence in interline capacitance measurements
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2002The characterization of modern interconnect architectures and materials for ICs requires extensive interline capacitance measurements at low frequencies (100 kHz-1 MHz) for evaluating the dielectric constant k of the insulating materials, which separate the conductive wires in the same metal level.

Measurement of sweating rate with capacitance sensors
Annals of Biomedical Engineering, 1983A new forced-evaporation type skin capsule for measuring local sweat gland activity in humans is described and details of its construction and problems of calibration are presented. The capsule is self-contained, portable, and inexpensive making it well suited for use in arrays to make multiple simultaneous determinations on adjacent skin areas.

A New Capacitance Measuring System for Capacitive Sensor for Moving Target Detection
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2019In this brief, a high sensitivity measuring system for capacitive sensor to detect moving target is presented. It mainly consists of a capacitance measuring circuit and a dc-blocking circuit. The capacitance measuring circuit is used to convert a capacitance to a dc voltage and the dc-blocking circuit is employed to extract the voltage variation.

Synaptic exocytosis and endocytosis: capacitance measurements
Current Opinion in Neurobiology, 1996Exo- and endocytosis are accompanied by changes in membrane capacitance. Capacitance measurements in synaptic terminals have proven recently to be a useful adjunct to other techniques in examining presynaptic mechanisms. New information has emerged from these studies about the size and dynamics of synaptic vesicle pools, about the Ca2+ dependence of ...
