A high-accuracy differential-capacitance-to-time converter for capacitive sensors
2015 IEEE 58th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2015A high-accuracy switched-capacitor (SC) differential-capacitance-to-time converter (DCTC) for capacitive sensors is presented for high-accuracy ratiometric operation. This circuit does not require component matching. Performances of the proposed circuit are simulated by HSPICE using 0.18 µm CMOS process parameters.

A Low-Power Capacitance-to-Voltage Converter For MEMS Capacitive Sensors
2019 31st International Conference on Microelectronics (ICM), 2019A new low-power capacitance-to-voltage converter (CVC) for MEMS capacitive sensors is presented. The CVC is implemented using a charge transfer technique, based on a current signal. Its mainly composed of a current mirror and a negative feedback system.

Reducing the Effect of Parasitic Capacitance on the Micro-capacitive Humidity Sensor
2019 IEEE 14th International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems (NEMS), 2019It is the most important issue of how the effects of parasitic capacitance can be reduced during the development of micro-capacitive humidity sensor systems. For this purposes, in this paper, step-by-step optimizations were carried out through packaging and circuit to achieve a high-precision, high-stability, and high-repetition humidity sensor system.

A capacitance level sensor design and sensor signal enhancement
2011 6th IEEE International Conference on Nano/Micro Engineered and Molecular Systems, 2011This paper introduces a novel fringe field capacitive sensor. To enhance the sensor signal, various sensor electrode design strategies and a surface modification method are introduced, discussed and compared. The sensors are characterized by both simulations and experiments.

Single-Wafer Pressure Capacitive Sensor
2007 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2007A novel manufacturing process for pressure sensor without the need of wafer bonding is presented. Its main advantages are a simple fabrication process and an efficient integr ability with other devices. The sensor is composed of a polysilicon membrane that deflects due to the pressure difference applied over it.

Digital Converter for Differential Capacitive Sensors
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2008A digital converter that directly translates variations in the capacitances of a differential-type capacitive sensor to a proportional digital value is described in this paper. A conventional dual-slope, analog-to-digital converter is suitably modified to obtain direct capacitance-to-digital conversion (CDC).
