Reliability Calculations for Capacitor Banks
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1983The reliability of high voltage power capacitor banks has been analyzed using a statistical model based on the failure intensity of the single capacitor element. The expected lifetime of the bank is obtained by computer simulation of element failure sequences leading to bank failure according to a preselected criterion.

Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1951ONE OF THE first 34.5-kv capacitor banks in this country was installed recently on the Indianapolis Power and Light Company system.
