A Switched-Capacitor-Based 7-Level Self-Balancing High-Gain Inverter Employing a Single DC Source

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, 2023
This paper discloses a novel switched capacitor (SC)-based 7-level inverter with a single DC source. The proposed inverter has the ability to self-balancing the voltage of the capacitor without using a closed-loop voltage balancing circuit.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Zero-Sequence Voltage Injection Method for DC Capacitor Voltage Balancing of Wye-Connected CHB Converter under Unbalanced Grid and Load Conditions

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
Leg capacitor energy balancing control is one of the crucial issues for stable operation of a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converter. Because this topology inherently consists of numerous submodule cells with DC capacitors, the cell voltages and leg capacitor

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

A selection principle of submodule switching state vectors for switching frequency reduction in voltage self‐balancing half‐bridge modular multilevel converters

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
The problem of submodule switching frequency reduction in half‐bridge modular multilevel converters (HB‐MMCs) with capacitor voltage self‐balancing control is considered and explored in this paper.

Generalized Structures for Switched-Capacitor Multilevel Inverter Topology for Energy Storage System Application

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The apparent advantages of Multilevel Inverter (MLI) topologies in handling medium and high power with less loss in switching and lower harmonic distortion in an output voltage waveform makes it better than the conventional inverter.

Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify

Ripple Analysis and Capacitor Voltage Balancing of Five-Level Hybrid Clamped Inverter (5L-HC) for Medium-Voltage Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The five-level hybrid clamped inverter (5L-HC) is a promising new topology for medium-voltage applications. However, to minimize the capacitors and ensure good performance of the converter, capacitor voltage ripples, as well as voltage balancing control,

Effects of Carbon Nanoparticles on Triboelectro‐Induced Surface Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanoparticles added to grease modify the electrocontact behavior. The synergy of particle concentration and electric current dominates the surface damage of metals in contact. Electrical surface damage caused by current leakage is a critical challenge in high‐performance applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains and wind turbine ...
