A note on the representability of a certain Hamiltonian capacity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
In this note we establish a representation property for a certain Hamiltonian capacity on $\R^{2n}$ with the standard symplectic structure. We demonstrate that the value of this capacity on an open set with a contact type boundary is an element of the action spectrum of the boundary.

On the Economic Value and Price-Responsiveness of Ramp-Constrained Storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The primary concerns of this paper are twofold: to understand the economic value of storage in the presence of ramp constraints and exogenous electricity prices, and to understand the implications of the associated optimal storage management policy on ...

Respiratory complex I‐mediated NAD+ regeneration regulates cancer cell proliferation through the transcriptional and translational control of p21Cip1 expression by SIRT3 and SIRT7

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Channel-forming discharge based on the extreme value identification of sediment-carrying capacity index

open access: yesScientific Reports
Channel-forming discharge (D cf) is an important parameter in river management and reservoir flood regulation. Applying the methods for calculating D cf to reaches downstream reservoirs characterized by drastic changes in water and sediment conditions ...

Characterization of Open Circuit Voltage and Capacity as a Function of Time [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
It is noted from the data presented that Li/BCX cells lose approximately 8% of their rated capacity in the first 2 months of storage. After this period of time, little difference is noted in the average realized capacity; however, a significant increase ...

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

The value of staging and estimating patient’s capacity for lung cancer therapy

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2006
Background: Resection yields the best survival rate in non-small cell lung cancer, and also as an adjuvant therapy to chemotherapy and radiation in small-cell lung cancer.

Nodal prices, capacity valuation and investments in natural gas markets - Overview and Analytical Framework [PDF]

open access: yes
Especially in the short-term, prices in natural gas markets are not exclusively determined by overall supply and demand, but also by the availability of the transport infrastructure.
