Vector-Valued capacities

Rendiconti del Circolo Matematico di Palermo, 1998
Let \(X\) be a Polish space, \(\mathbb{P}(X)\) the power set of \(X\) and \(B\) a Banach lattice. The authors introduce the notion of vector-valued capacity; that is a monotone function \(I: \mathbb{P}(X)\to B\) \(\sigma\)-order continuous from below and on closed sets \(\sigma\)-order continuous from above.

Value for Railway Capacity

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2012
Growth in rail traffic has not been matched by increases in railway infrastructure. Given this capacity challenge and the current restrictions on public spending, the allocation and the utilization of existing railway capacity are more important than ever.

Energy Storage as a Peaker Replacement: Can Solar and Battery Energy Storage Replace the Capacity Value of Thermal Generation?

IEEE Electrification Magazine, 2018
In the past few years, battery energy storage systems (BESs) have seen a dramatic increase in adoption rates across many power grids. While battery storage remains a small portion of the grid, the pace of adoption has accelerated due to declining prices ...

Absorptive capacity: Valuing a reconceptualization

Academy of Management Review, 2007
Zahra and George (2002) suggested a reconceptualization of the absorptive capacity construct in order to reduce ambiguity in empirical studies. A rereading of the seminal Cohen and Levinthal (1990) article in light of current research on learning and innovation directs our attention to serious ambiguities and omissions in Zahra and George's ...

Renewable Energy Capacity Value Estimation Using Peak Period Method in Rajasthan

2018 3rd International Conference for Convergence in Technology (I2CT), 2018
This paper deals with calculation of capacity value of renewable energy (solar and wind energy) in Rajasthan. Capacity value refers to the contribution of a power plant to reliably meet peak power demand.

Well-Being, Value Fulfillment, and Valuing Capacities

2022
Abstract A central debate about well-being in analytic philosophy concerns whether there are objective constraints on what it is to flourish or whether well-being is entirely subjective. This chapter argues that the battle lines in this debate have been drawn too starkly and recommends considering a hybrid theory.

Capacity value of solar power

2012 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2012
Evaluating the capacity value of renewable energy sources can pose significant challenges due to their variable and uncertain nature. In this paper the capacity value of solar power is investigated. Solar capacity value metrics and their associated calculation methodologies are reviewed and several solar capacity studies are summarized. The differences

Impacts of Absorptive Capacity on Value Creation

Anatolia, 2009
ABSTRACT Recent development in strategy research has demonstrated the important role of network participation in firm value creation. However understanding the key role of networks in value creation is only the first step, ft is substantial to understand, also, the underlying mechanisms that impact firms capability in appropriating and creating value ...

A Values-Based Approach to Capacity Assessment

Journal of Legal Medicine, 2022
The dominant approaches to assessing patients for decisional capacity in the clinical setting, the "four skills" and "sliding scale" models, emerged in the 1970s and 1980s against a backdrop of medical paternalism and reflect their origins in law and forensic psychiatry.
