Motion was found to induce significant variation in the luminescence intensity ratio of NIR‐emitting Tm3+‐doped NaYbF4 nanoparticles, which has been ascribed to the population dynamics of the Tm3+ ion's excited states. These findings provide the groundwork for the design of motion nanosensors that can operate in environments not accessible with UV–vis ...

NIR I‐to‐NIR I Time‐Gated Luminescence Detection From Tm3+‐Doped Gd3TaO7 for Deep Tissue Imaging
A new generation of optical imaging (OI) using temporal resolution, exploring a NIR I‐to‐NIR I biological window emission by a Phonon Assisted Conversion (PAC) system singly doped with Tm3+ ions. Although still in early development, this approach opens new directions for designing optimized fluorophores to enhance bioimaging performance.
