Ultra Short Pulse Laser Welding of Glass to Metal in the Low Fluence Regime
Ultrashortpulse laser welding enables precise joining of glass and metal with minimal thermal damage. We introduce the TwoThresholds Criteria to identify suitable laser parameters by combining the nonlinearabsorption threshold in glass with the metalmodification fluence threshold.

Response of specific leaf area to light: comparative study of a large species set
Specific leaf area (SLA) is a commonly used proxy for the leaf economy spectrum in plants, separating species with low‐cost leaves (in terms of carbon) with short lifespan and hence fast turnover from species with high‐cost and long‐lived leaves. While SLA is used mainly for interspecific comparisons, it also varies within species both ontogenetically ...

Effects of added caper on some physicochemical properties of White Cheese
In this study, the effects of caper berries addition on some physicochemical and functional properties of White Cheese were investigated. Three batches of White Cheese were produced: a control group with no caper addition (C), a group with whole grain ...

Gel Extraction from Caper Fruits (Capparies spinosa L.) and Assess its Effectiveness as Antioxidants
The results of the current study showed that the caper plant contains active compounds such as phenols and flavonoids. Caper gel exhibited the highest antioxidant activity about 92.31 % when used at concentration 100 %, when was comparable to that shown ...

Connecting the distribution and diversification of marine plants
Integration of the evolutionary history with distribution of extant species is necessary to explain present‐day diversity, particularly for ‘foundation' species, such as seagrasses, which create habitats of socioecological relevance. Here, we resolved if varying evolutionary history of seagrass families has imprinted the distribution ranges of extant ...

Brazil's diverse flora is under several threats, with many unique lineages facing extinction, particularly in biodiverse regions like the Cerrado and campo rupestre. This study sheds light on the conservation needs of Cambessedesia (Melastomataceae), an endemic genus with 95% of its species endangered, using an approach to rank and prioritise species ...

Medicinal plants used in ethnobotanical traditions to treat or prevent diseases have gained renewed interest for their largely untapped potential in drug discovery. In this study, we developed and tested novel methods to prioritise plant species based on their unexplored medicinal potential. By enabling researchers to target the most promising species,

ABSTRACT Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition characterized by a preclinical stage that typically lasts for decades. Early on during this time, microglia react to pathological changes and become protective and even transiently delay neurodegeneration.
