[Severe liver involvement by Capillaria hepatica].

Human hepatic capillariasis is a rare disease, which predominantly affects children aged 1 to 4 years and has a poor prognosis in extensive infections. This is the first case observed in Germany. To establish an animal model of Capillaria hepatica.Sixteen rats and two cats were infected with the embryo eggs of Capillaria hepatica through mouth.Of 16 infected rats, 2 were negative, 14 were positive with Capillaria hepatica. 2 cats were negative.Rats could be used as an animal model of Capillaria hepatica.
