Analytical Chemistry, 1989
The combined techniques that comprise capillary electrophoresis are under rapid development for a wide range of molecules and sample types. The capillary format provides fast, highly efficient separations and makes automation possible. At present, systematic approaches to separation methodology are still in the development stages and better detection ...

Cyclic capillary electrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2002A strategy is described here for increasing both the resolution and the flexibility of capillary electrophoresis performed in a sieving medium of ungelled polymer. This strategy is based on analysis and, sometimes, re-analysis that is done in several stages of constant-field electrophoresis. Enhancement-stages are between the analysis-stages.

Current Opinion in Biotechnology, 1996
Capillary electorphoresis is rapidly maturing as a major technique for the analysis of proteins, nucleic acids, and glycoconjugates. Recently, efforts have concentrated on the application of its two most powerful ancillary techniques, laser-induced fluorescence detection and mass spectrometry.

Affinity capillary electrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 1997AbstractThe application of affinity capillary electrophoresis (ACE) to the study of molecular interactions is reviewed. ACE appears to be a sensitive, versatile and convenient tool to obtain reliable data on binding constants and stoichiometries of interacting systems using the Hummel‐Dreyer method and variants thereof.

Forensic capillary electrophoresis
TrAC Trends in Analytical Chemistry, 1996Abstract Capillary electrophoresis (high-performance electrophoresis) has recently become established as a versatile and powerful separation technique. It has a broad applicability and can be used with a variety of detection systems. An introduction is given to this analytical technique, then some applications to forensic problems are discussed.

Multidimensional capillary electrophoresis
ELECTROPHORESIS, 2014Multidimensional separation where two or more orthogonal displacement mechanisms are combined is a promising approach to increase peak capacity in CE. The combinations allow dramatic improvement of analytical performance since the total peak capacity is given by a product of the peak capacities of all methods.

Nonaqueous Capillary Electrophoresis
Analytical Chemistry, 1994This paper reports an investigation of performing capillary electrophoresis (CE) in formamide. Formamide has a higher dielectric constant than water and can solubilize many supporting electrolytes. It is commonly used in mixtures with water in electrophoretic buffers.

Capillary Zone Electrophoresis
Science, 1983Zone electrophoresis in open tubular capillaries is a useful approach to high-resolution separations of charged substances. Efficient heat transfer from small diameter capillaries permits application of unusually high voltages, which promote more effective separations and increase the speed of analyses.
