Popularization and application of the capillary foam deliquification technology in horizontal wells with low pressures and low liquid flow rates: A case study on middle–shallow gas reservoirs in the Western Sichuan depression

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2019
The application effect of the foam deliquification technology in horizontal wells is poor because the foaming agent fails to reach the target location.

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Numerical Research on Characteristic of Pressure-driven Gas Flow in Capillary

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2023
The transport and retention of aerosols in the containment gap are closely related to the gas flow in the cracks. In order to evaluate the aerosol retention efficiency in the cracks after an accident by the existing aerosol penetration coefficient ...

Video-rate 3D Particle Tracking with Extended Depth-of-field in Thick Biological Samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a single-aperture 3D particle localisation and tracking technique with a vastly increased depth-of-field without compromising optical resolution and throughput. Flow measurements in a FEP capillary and a zebrafish blood vessel are demonstrated

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

On the impact of capillarity for strength at the nanoscale

open access: yes, 2017
The interior of nanoscale crystals experiences stress that compensates the capillary forces and that can be large, in the order of 1 GPa. Various studies have speculated on whether and how this surface-induced stress affects the stability and plasticity ...
