Capillary electrophoresis and capillary flow injection analysis with electrochemical detection

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 1996
Measurements by capillary flow injection analysis (CFIA) and capillary electrophoresis (CE) in conjunction with electrochemical detection are described. The detection is based on an end-column electrode arrangement. Several novel electrodes, such as a spherical gold electrode and a dual-microdisk electrode, are presented and characterized regarding ...

Enantiomeric separation by capillary electrophoresis with an electroosmotic flow-controlled capillary

Journal of Chromatography A, 2000
Perfect control of electroosmotic flow (EOF) was achieved by dovetailing successive multiple ionic-polymer layer (SMIL) coated capillaries. The direction and magnitude of the EOF was perfectly controllable over the pH range 2-13. Zone diffusion was not observed, even if the inner wall of the dovetailed capillary was discontinuous, or if the sample zone

Treelike networks accelerating capillary flow

Physical Review E, 2014
Transport in treelike networks has received wide attention in natural systems, oil recovery, microelectronic cooling systems, and textiles. Existing studies are focused on transport behaviors under a constant potential difference (including pressure, temperature, and voltage) in a steady state [B. Yu and B. Li, Phys. Rev. Capillary-scale polarimetry for flowing streams

The Analyst, 2001
A micro-polarimeter with a 40 nL probe volume was configured so that it is compatible with capillary-scale flowing stream analysis. The optical configuration consists of two polarizing optics, a capillary, a laser source and a photodetector which is very simple to configure with low cost components. This unique polarimeter is based upon the interaction

Capillaries and the Electroosmotic Flow

2000
The velocity of the electroosmotic flow (EOF) is a crucial parameter for separations by capillary electrophoresis. It determines the range of analyte mobilities that can be handled in a single run as well as the run time. Moreover, variations in the EOF, between different capillaries and between different runs on the same capillary, are the main source

Flow Through Capillary

2014
With introductory remarks about laminar and turbulent flow, expression for rate of discharge of liquid for a laminar flow has been derived. The expression does contain kinetic energy term. Different confusing numerical factors appearing in various literatures in the kinetic energy term have been explained.

Intermittent flow in tendon capillary bundles

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1979
The capillary bed has been observed in the Achilles tendon of 40 bullfrogs and 10 guinea pigs for periods of up to 2 h. The opening and closing of adjacent capillaries in a perfused area follows the pattern originally described by Krogh for skeletal muscle but the frequency is slower, as anticipated from the lower metabolic rate of tendon.

Capillary flow in containers of polygonal section

AIAA Journal, 2001
An improved understanding of the large-length-scale capillary flows arising in a low-gravity environment is critical to that engineering community concerned with the design and analysis of spacecraft fluids management systems. Because a significant portion of liquid behavior in spacecraft is capillary dominated, it is natural to consider designs that ...
