Dispersion of nano-silica in monomer casting nylon6 and its effect on the structure and properties of composites

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2010
To promote dispersion of nano-silica in monomer casting nylon6 (MC nylon6), nano-silica was dispersed in melted caprolactam with the assistance of ultrasound, anionic polymerization was then initiated to form silica/MC nylon6 in-situ nanocomposites.

Development of Cost‐Effective and Highly Transparent Melamine Formaldehyde Resin Modified With Sodium Chloride for Enhancing Glossiness and Abrasion Resistance of Melamine Impregnated Paper

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
An eco‐friendly melamine‐formaldehyde was produced by the addition of sodium chloride as a modifier. Modified MF resin improved surface gloss and abrasion resistance of decorative paper and decreased the formaldehyde emission. Curing time of the MF resin decreased with the addition of sodium chloride.

Die kationische Caprolactam-Polymerisation

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1974
The lactam polymerizations initiated by proton acids, Lewis acids, and ammonium salts, resp., as well as the hydrolytic polymerization are summarized as “cationic polymerizations”.

Obtaining cyclopentanone from acidic wastewater of caprolactam production

open access: yesChimica Techno Acta, 2020
It has been shown that adipic acid released from the by-products of caprolactam production is a promising raw material for the production of cyclopentanone.

Statistical evaluation of nylon chemical recycling through acidolysis

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Sustainable PA6 recycling through acidolysis enabled temperature‐driven depolymerization, modeled by regression analysis. Recycled products successfully replaced up to 30% monomer while preserving PA6 chemical composition or crystalline structure. Abstract This study focuses on the sustainability of plastics reporting the recycling of polyamide (PA ...

Cationic Ring Opening polymerization of ε-caprolactam by a Montmorillonite Clay Catalyst

open access: yesBulletin of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Catalysis, 2014
The ring opening bulk polymerization of ε-caprolactam catalyzed by Maghnite-H+ was reported. Maghnite-H+ is a montmorillonite silicate sheet clay was prepared through a straight forward proton exchange process.

The plasticisation model of dye diffusion: Part 7

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Re‐evaluation using the Williams‐Landel‐Ferry equation, of exhaustion/fixation/adsorption data previously reported for four classes of anionic dye onto three different types of wool substrate, revealed that thermally activated dyeing/desorption behaviour is governed by the thermally regulated structural relaxation times of the respective water‐

Intrinsically Flame‐Retardant Polyamide 6 by Anionic Ring‐Opening Copolymerization with a Phosphorous‐Containing Comonomer

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
A three‐step synthetic route is established for the synthesis of a phosphorus‐containing ε‐caprolactam derivative, starting from cyclohex‐2‐enone and diphenylphosphinous chloride, followed by a Beckmann rearrangement. 2D NMR spectroscopy reveals that the

Influence of cyclodextrin on the UCST- and LCST-behavior of poly(2-methacrylamido-caprolactam)-co-(N,N-dimethylacrylamide)

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
The monomer 2-methacrylamido-caprolactam (4) was synthesized from methacryloyl chloride (3) and racemic α-amino-ε-caprolactam (2). Copolymerization of 4 with N,N-dimethylacrylamide (5) was carried out by a free-radical mechanism using 2,2’-azobis(2 ...
