A 33-year-old man had a unique lens capsular cyst that became clinically evident eight years after a penetrating ocular injury in which the lens capsule was disrupted. Microscopic examination indicated that the cyst may have arisen from displaced lens capsule and epithelial cells that became separated from the lens.

This paper describes a zonular system between the posterior border of the lens and the anterior hyaloid. It is obviously the anatomical correlate of Wieger's ligament, which previously could not be confirmed anatomically, despite its functional evidence.

Temporomandibular capsular rearrangement
British Journal of Oral Surgery, 1974Abstract Failure of forward sliding of the intra-articular meniscus in the condition of painful locking of the jaw has been deduced from the appearance of a series of opaque temporomandibular arthrograms in cases of pain dysfunction syndrome. It was similarly concluded that ‘clicking joint’ is related to hesitation of movement of the meniscus.

We report 5 patients with unilateral infarct and 1 with hemorrhage limited to the genu of the internal capsule. The most prominent finding was contralateral facial and lingual hemiparesis with dysarthria. Three patients also showed unilateral mastication-palatal-pharyngeal weakness, and 1 had unilateral vocal cord paresis.

We report the case of a 54-year-old woman with an incidental finding of a left-sided renal mass for which she underwent a radical nephrectomy. Histology confirmed leiomyoma of the renal capsule.

Capsular contracture, constrictive tightening of scar tissue around implants, was historically the primary reason for reoperating breast-implanted women. Yet, capsular contracture remains of unknown etiology. Contamination with foreign material is one of several suspected causes. Talc, a known fibrogenic agent, was recently found in peri-implant scars.

Superior Capsular Reconstruction
Orthopedics, 2017Superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) of the shoulder has recently gained popularity as an option for joint-preserving shoulder surgery for patients with an irreparable rotator cuff tear. In the absence of glenohumeral arthritis, rotator cuff tear irreparability should only be diagnosed for most patients after a careful diagnostic ...

Left hemiparesis and left-sided ataxia developed in a 67-year-old man. Computed tomography (CT) showed an area of decreased attenuation in the anterior part of the rostral posterior limb of the right internal capsule that enhanced with contrast. As the patient's condition improved, the contrast enhancement resolved.

A surgical technique for inferior repositioning of disk attachments is described. This reattachment of the disk permits much more flexibility and possibly more permanence of the repositioning of the disk and a greater surgical margin of safety by avoiding the disk-bilaminar zone junction.
