Renal Capsular Hemangioma

We present a rare example of hemangioma of the renal capsule. This benign mesenchymal tumor can present diagnostic difficulties, since it can radiographically and macroscopically simulate more common tumors of the kidney, including renal cell carcinoma.

Dislocation of capsular bag with intraocular lens and capsular tension ring

We report a case in which the capsular bag with an intraocular lens (IOL) and a capsular tension ring (CTR) dislocated into the vitreous. The dislocated foldable posterior chamber IOL and CTR were removed with a pars plana vitrectomy and exchanged with a scleral-fixated IOL. No complications occurred intraoperatively or postoperatively.

Capsular tissue, the interface that forms between an implanted device and the body's own soft tissues, has recently been shown to develop its own unique blood supply. This capsular tissue with its extensive vascular plexus has not been described previously as an isolated flap.
