Abstract Premise Imaging technologies that capture three‐dimensional (3D) variation in floral morphology at micro‐ and nano‐resolutions are increasingly accessible. In herkogamous flowers, such as those of Theobroma cacao, structural barriers between anthers and stigmas represent bottlenecks that restrict pollinator size and access to reproductive ...

We studied how temperate and neotropical butterflies respond to temperature change. Neotropical butterflies were better at regulating their body temperature than temperate butterflies, mainly because at high air temperatures neotropical butterflies cooled themselves more.

We show that vegetation structure can predict species richness and functional diversity in Amazonian mixed‐species flocks in primary and secondary forests. In addition, we show that secondary forest flocks retain a large percentage of the functional diversity exhibited by their primary forest counterparts. Abstract Secondary forest has the potential to

Phylogenetic and ecological correlates of pollen morphological diversity in a Neotropical rainforest
Abstract Morphology varies enormously across clades, and the morphology of a trait may reflect ecological function or the retention of ancestral features. We examine the tension between ecological and phylogenetic correlates of morphological diversity through a case study of pollen grains produced by angiosperms in Barro Colorado Island, Panama (BCI ...

Características morfológicas do sequestro pulmonar
ABSTRACTThe pulmonary sequestration corresponds to pulmonary tissue intra or extra-lobar with systemic arterial nutrition and collateral bronchial ramification. It is unfrequent and the intra-lobar identification depends on the correct clinical signs and morphology. The correct study includes imagiologic identification of the systemic artery and ...
