The complete mitochondrial genome of the Parastromateus niger (Perciformes, Carangidae)
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014In this study, we have sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of the Parastromateus niger. The mitochondrial genome is 16,561 bp long and contains 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a control region. The gene order and composition of Parastromateus niger mitochondrial genome is similar to that of most other vertebrates. The

Journal of the Royal Society of New Zealand, 1977Abstract The taxonomic status of Trachurus declivis (Jenyns, 1842) and T. nouaezelandiae Richardson, 1843 present in New Zealand waters, is discussed. Criteria used to identify these species include the lateral line configuration, the extent of the accessory lateral line, and scute count. The species are re-defined allowing for interspecific variation.
