Persistence of chlorpropham (CIPC) in the concrete flooring of potato stores [PDF]
The loss of the sprout suppressant, chlorpropham (CIPC), to the fabric of potato stores is currently of concern due to the risk of potential cross contamination of other crops subsequently housed in these stores.

UV‐Triggered Cascading Degradation of Silicone Elastomer via Self‐Fluoride Amplification
UV‐triggered degradable materials offer proficient control of functional lifetime, while having issues with trigger efficiency. This work enhances the UV‐triggered degradation mechanism of silicone elastomer by introducing the UV‐initiated synergetic fluoride self‐amplification. The silicone composite shows excellent mechanical properties and on‐demand

Colour changes in pulses fumigated with different metal phosphide formulations
Many phosphine-emitting products are used globally to control insect pests in dried vegetables, grains and pulses. However, variation in phosphide formulations is associated with colour change in many pulses. This study evaluated the effect of fumigation

Dynamic Bonds Reinforced Polyamide Elastomer for Biomedical Orthosis
A dynamic bonds (DBs) reinforced shape memory polyamide elastomer is developed using reactive extrusion. Dynamic covalent networks enhance interlayer adhesion in 4D‐printed objects by utilizing the combined effects of multiple DBs, reducing mechanical anisotropy and improving the mechanical and shape memory properties.

Photocontrolled Release of Urea Enables the Detection of Urea–Urease Intermediates by Cryo‐FTIR
Urease is a fast enzyme, presenting kcat of the order of 103–104 s−1. To enable the visualization of its mechanism we explored the technique of cryo‐FTIR. By means of using a ruthenium complex as a caged‐urea, upon light irradiation urea was released and we could see the coordination of the urea to the active site.

CO2‐DBU‐Triggered Photoredox‐Catalyzed Direct α‐C‐H Alkylation of Alcohols
An efficient photoinduced and metal‐free method is developed for direct α‐C–H monoalkylation of alcohols utilizing the CO2‐DBU system as the hydrogen bond acceptor (HBA) in the presence of H2O, allowing for selective functionalization of alcohols with a broad substrate scope.

A highly efficient and selective chemo‐divergent hydrogenation of cyclic carbonates is promoted by in situ generated poly(ionic liquid)‐stabilized ruthenium nanoparticles (Ru@PIL) catalysts. Under solvent‐free conditions, ethylene carbonate is transformed into either ethylene glycol and CH4 or EtOH and CO2, following a “direct hydrogenation” or a ...

Cholinergic Crisis after Rodenticide Poisoning
Rodenticides have historically been common agents in attempted suicides. As most rodenticides in the United States (U.S.) are superwarfarins, these ingestions are generally managed conservatively with close monitoring for coagulopathy, and if necessary ...
