The basis of the carbamate reaction

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1955
Abstract Previously, it had been assumed that the carbamination of amino acids could be carried out only in strongly alkaline media (in the presence of alkaline-earth hydroxides). The carbamino carboxylic acids, however, are also formed at neutral and mildly acid reactions.

Organophosphate and Carbamate Poisoning

Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America, 2015
Organophosphates (OPs) and carbamates have a wide variety of applications, most commonly as pesticides used to eradicate agricultural pests or control populations of disease-carrying vectors. Some OP and carbamates have therapeutic indications such as physostigmine.

Regioselective Organocatalytic Formation of Carbamates from Substituted Cyclic Carbonates

, 2016
A highly regioselective catalytic approach has been developed towards carbamates derived from cyclic organic carbonates by reaction of the latter with amine reagents under organocatalytic control.

Light Induced C-C Coupling of 2-Chlorobenzazoles with Carbamates, Alcohols, and Ethers.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
A light induced, transition-metal-free C-C coupling reaction of 2-chlorobenzazoles with aliphatic carbamates, alcohols, and ethers is presented. Inexpensive reagents, namely sodium acetate, benzophenone, water, and acetonitrile, are employed in a simple ...

Diethylenetriamine-Mediated Direct Cleavage of Unactivated Carbamates and Ureas.

Organic Letters, 2016
Diethylenetriamine is effective for the direct cleavage of unactivated carbamates and ureas without additional reagents and catalysts. Various carbamates and ureas were cleaved to afford products in good yield, and the reactions were not affected by air ...

Infrared Spectra of Ammonium Carbamate and Deuteroammonium Carbamate

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1964
Infrared spectra of thin solid films formed by the condensation of gaseous mixtures of NH3 or ND3 and CO2 at low temperatures were obtained in the region from 4000 to 400 cm—1 at —25°, —78°, and —190°C. Two types of spectra were obtained, depending upon the temperature of formation of the solid.

The interaction of carbamates with acetylcholinesterase

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1977
Abstract It has been shown that the kinetic schemes proposed by earlier workers to describe the reactions of carbamates with acetylcholinesterase are incomplete. A reaction scheme has been developed and tested by the use of methyl- and dimethyl-carbamoylcholines; it adequately explains the reactions observed in the carbamate-enzyme system, including ...

Nickel/N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura Type Cross-Coupling of Aryl Carbamates.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
The utility of N-heterocyclic carbene ligands in nickel-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling of aryl esters and carbamates is investigated. Imidazol-2-ylidene bearing 2-adamantyl groups at its nitrogen atoms generates the most active nickel species ...

Nickel‐ or Iron‐Catalyzed Cross‐Coupling of Aryl Carbamates with Arylsilanes

, 2016
Aryl carbamates were for the first time applied as electrophiles in the cross-coupling with arylsilanes via nickel or iron catalysis to construct valuable biaryl compounds. This new coupling reaction features a good group tolerance and non-sensitivity to
