Abrasive wear resistance of a quenched and sub-zero treated high-chromium white cast iron
The study reported in this paper concerned development of such microstructure of high-chromium (24 % Cr) cast iron which could secure high abrasive wear resistance of die inserts used to fabricate stampings from refractory materials. It was found that by

A New Family of Ternary Intermetallic Compounds with Dualistic Atomic Ordering – The ZIP Phases
The ZIP phases are ternary intermetallic compounds with dualistic atomic ordering, i.e., they exhibit one face‐centered cubic (fcc; space group Fd3¯$\bar 3$m) variant and one hexagonal (space group P63/mmc) variant. The ZIP phases in the Nb‐Si‐Ni system are the Nb3SiNi2 (fcc) and Ni3SiNb2 (hexagonal) ternary IMCs, crystal structure schematics of which ...

This review explores how in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques reveal the real‐time behavior of reticular materials, including MOFs and COFs. These methods track material formation and functionalization, structural changes, defect formation, dynamic responses to external triggers, and catalytic processes.

Effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment on Hardness and Wear Behavior of 5120 AISI Steel
In this paper the effect of deep cryogenic treatment time on microstructure and tribological behavior of AISI 5120 case hardennig steel is studied. The disk shape samples were carburized at 920 ◦C for 6 hours and air cooled; after austenitizing, the ...
